I am not really one to consider there to be a big difference between reading a book physically (with pages), electronically or listening to an audiobook. I have done all of them and found that as long as I am interested and paying attention, I get the same amount of content and influence from whatever material I choose.
Because I travel constantly, back and fourth between Los Angeles and San Diego every weekend and from San Diego to Northern California and everywhere in between a couple times a year, I find I have a lot of time to myself. I have created a system to use this large amount of time to the best of my ability. I limit my liquids, think about the certain times of day I leave, use the time to meditate but also I listen to audiobooks. A lot of them. Whenever school is in session, I hardly ever have time to read and I prefer audiobooks because I can do two things at once. I can read and run at the same time. I can read and knit at the same time. I can read and simple close my eyes to absorb the content.
And so when I say "I have read these books...", please don't be a jerk and say "listening to an audiobook is not the same as reading." I'm not any less dumb because I'm listening to it and not looking at it.
Here is the list of books I have "read" since the year began...
Fifty Shades of Grey (because I was curious and yes, it was awful)
The Lovely Bones (because I remember liking the movie which as it turns out is nothing like the book)
Bad Feminist (because i've been interested in it for a while and study feminist theory in college)
Eleanor and Park (because it was suggested to me)
Wild (because once again, I want to contact and compare with the movie)
Here is my list for future books...
To Kill A Mocking Bird (because I love it)
The House on Mango Street (because I've heard good things)
Bless Me, Ultima (because I read an article about how it is the book of Generation Y)
I continue to find books that interest me. As long as I have time, I will pursue them. Please leave a suggestion.

Amoeba in San Francisco
Monday, October 27, 2014
Now I can say I've visited two Amoebas! Before I moved to LA, I never heard of Amoeba but I quickly learned what that was all about when I asked people "hey where should I explore?" Then it changed even more when I actually started BUYING records. Literally in a matter of months, my record collection has grown immensely. I even joined a record club that sends me records so I don't even have to go to the store. Yep.
Then it was brought to my attention that there is not just one Amoeba in California but two! I would love to say that when I was in San Fran, I just thought to myself "oh I should go to Amoeba." But no, that's not what happened. I ended up falling upon it when I was walking up and down Haight street and voila! I thought "when in rome...". I didn't spend much time in there because I was already in a bit of a rushed mood but I also didn't have the patience to walk around the entire store to adequately look for a record I would appreciate and why would I buy a record I didn't actually really want???
I ended up strolling around taking pictures, getting weird glances and occasionally looking through old rock records for classics that sometimes you just can't find (...eh hm...dolly parton...).

Halloween in San Francisco
Saturday, October 25, 2014
Last weekend when I visited my best friend in Sacramento, I decided to stop in San Francisco on the way back to San Diego because I could (its kind of a spontaneous trait of mine). I went with the intentions of taking pictures and walking around. I would love to say that I went somewhere new but usually when I visit a place I love like San Fran, I usually go to the places that I like the best. This meant Haight Street and my favorite ice cream place IN THE WORLD Bi-Rite Creamery. I stopped at a coffee shop and got some work done and even went somewhere new (pictures of that in a future blog post). It was incredibly cold (at least compared to what I'm use to living in San Diego/LA) which I was unprepared for but it was still nice to walk around and I noticed all the decorative pieces around people's houses.
I've always loved Halloween but for some reason it seems like this year especially. I'm super excited for all the things I can do Halloween night, I'm excited to dress up, I was excited to find a pumpkin, and I was excited for every Halloween opportunity to come up (me and birdie saw The Book of Life and it was great!).
More Halloween/Fall blog post soon...

Happy New Year
Wednesday, January 1, 2014
Was it the greatest year? Not so much. But were there plenty of changes and challenges? Most definitely and it is my belief that one should have many challenges within their life to become a stronger person. This year I played shows with my band, transferred to university to work on my BA degree, traveled to throughout California, Nevada, Oregon and Washington DC, and made the move to LA.
It has been quite a year but that is to say, I am relieved that the year has ended and a new year has begun. The last few months, I have tried my best to give myself some time to adjust to my surroundings and give myself a little peace. But now I believe I am ready to conquer some of the challenges the year has in store for me. Such as finding where I belong in my school, how I plan to work on my music and finding a balance between my life in LA and San Diego.
So I wish everyone a Happy New Year (though I hardly like to wish people this at all) and that hopefully everyone had a safe night. I was lucky enough not to be one of many who had a hangover from the night before.
Happy Blogging.

San Francisco With Birdie
Thursday, July 25, 2013
Last week before heading back to San Diego, I decided it would be nice to stop in San Francisco. It would give a good break for birdie (since it is a ten hour drive) and I always visit the Bi-Rite Creamery when I'm there because they have my favorite ice cream, honey lavender!

There has been quite a bit of traveling going on lately. And its still not over! Hope everyone is having a good summer.
1) Honey Lavender and Caramel Sea Salt Ice cream. SO GOOD! 2) Lillee trying to adventurous and trying Basil ice cream. It didn't work out. 3) Feeling satisfied with Balsamic Strawberry and dark chocolate. 4) I need a cup of caffeinated jasmine green tea for the ride home. 5) Lillee dancing her heart out in Delores Park. 6-7) Playing at the playground in Delores Park.
