Heading Back

Monday, October 20, 2014

I don't want to go back to back to LA. But I need to go back to school, start teaching, Birdie has conferences coming up and hello HALLOWEEN in the city! Being down in Sacramento was nice for the fact that it got me out of Southern California which is what I needed but what was most important about this trip was seeing my best friend and telling her/letting her help me get through everything thats but going on in my life for the last couple of months. It was probably the most drastic thing I could do but I am entirely happy that I did it. It gave me a chance to reassess things, recharge my emotions and get on with everything else I have going on in my life.

Tell me about things that you do to recharge yourself and get into action.

What I wore/ BFAB for Eshakti

dress: eshakti.com
shoes: Urban Outfitters

I was asked by Eshakti.com if I would do a post on what I think of their clothing. I had never heard of them before and had never seen their advertisements anywhere but I would definitely shop with them again. I found a lot of items that I would wear in my daily adventures but the one thing that I loved and couldn't stop bragging about was that not only do they have a wide range of sizes (from the most petite to the most busty), for $7 more, you can enter your exact measurements for them to make an item of clothing that fits you perfectly.

I don't know about you but I've always had trouble finding the right fit because I have a small waist but a busty top. When I bought my bikini, I got an extra small in the bottoms and a large in the top (it is what it is). So finding a clothing company that is willing to work for your body type is hard to find.

I also loved how you could customize each dress. You could add sleeves or take off sleeves, add length to a skirt/dress or change the neckline. The possibilities were endless and it took me some time  deciding what exactly I wanted. But I'm happy with how things turned out. This will mostly likely be an "event" dress that I wear occasionally.

What I Wore

Tuesday, February 25, 2014

More like "what we wore".

To follow up on minimal style, I decided to do an outfit post and since I was in San Diego for the weekend, I asked Bird if she wanted to be a part of it. As you can tell by her poses, she definitely was into it.

I've always noticed how Lillee has her own personal style and is influenced by my own style but this weekend, I REALLY noticed it. I wore tights, she wore tights. I wore sun glasses, she wore sun glasses. I wore a scarf, she found something that resembled a scarf and wore it. Do any other mothers notice this about their children?

Me:
Jacket - thrifted
Shirt - thrifted
Scarf - handmade!
Shades - local store in San Diego
Shoes - Aldo
Pants - Urban Outfitters

Bird:
Dress - Crazy 8s

Shoes - Target
Shades - Crazy 8s
