We're in Disneyland!

As a special gift for Birdie's birthday, my daughter's father and I decided to spend the weekend at Disneyland. 

We planned this months in advance and even though we did decide to do this, we also needed a vacation as well and looked forward to it. We surprised her the morning of and even though she didn't react like THIS, she still acted as if she was in shock (we did tell her at 6 in the morning). 

The first day was a little rough. We got there later than we wanted to, we were tired from sitting in traffic, we couldn't check into our hotel until later and I guess we were just in a funky mood. Since the first day it has gotten better but we are also learning from our mistakes and learning when we need to take a break.

Happy Birthday Birdie

Usually when people find out I'm a mother, they ask about my daughter. 

So one day when I was telling someone about her, they said "she sounds like an old soul." 

Of course, she is officially six today but I think in all sense of the words, she truly is an old soul. Over the weekend, we decided to go to the new library in Downtown San Diego and capturing her expressions while looking at the books made me believe it even more.

"Okay, Mom. You can stop taking pictures now."
