Daughter is a pretty well known band and I've known about them for the past couple of years. But recently, the music just kind of hit me. I bought their EP a few weeks ago and listened to it non-stop. It may have been the mood I was in but I also really like Elena Tonra, the main singer. Apparently there are web searches dedicated to her haircut.

Music Monday

This week is The Broken Circle Breakdown.

The Broken Circle Breakdown was a film that was nominated for an Academy Award this year for Best Foreign Film. It unfortunately did not win but it was one of my favorites out of nominees and it made me cry the entire time. Be fore warned, this is a desperately sad film. But the music was incredibly good. I'm unsure if the singer in the film is voiced over by Allison Krauss but either way, I enjoyed the bluegrass genre.

Music Monday...on a Tuesday

I completely forgot about Music Monday. 

So here it is on a Tuesday. My choice this week, Black Mamba. Not to be confused with "the black mamba". I first heard of this band when i watched the indie film "I am Not A Hipster." Their album is called Golden Birthday.

Music Monday: Angel Olsen

Now it is a new week. 

And for this week, I'm establishing a "music monday." 

This week is Angel Olsen. She recently released a new album titled Forgiven/Forgotten. I'm in love with the entire album but the song that sticks out for me is "unf***theworld" which happens to be the first song played in this video.
